EAG Application Solutions for Morphology & TopographyMorphology is a qualitative evaluation of the three dimensional shape and form of a surface, while topography provides quantitative feature dimensions. Our choice of analytical technique depends on whether qualitative or quantitative information will best serve the desired analysis. MorphologyMorphology, or "what a sample looks like," is best evaluated using imaging techniques, such as optical microscopy or Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). These methods can also provide layer thickness and other quantitative information. TopographyIf you want to determine the roughness or step height of your sample, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Profilometry are your best choices. Application Notes |
